Owner Brien Pippen started repairing appliances with his father at age eleven. 38 years later and he’s still at it. Brien has made a reputation for the company by only keeping highly trained and skilled technicians on his team. Every technician is back-ground checked. The Appliance Care Company is the only company to have 2 certified master appliance technicians in the entire Kansas City area. The team are active members of United Appliance Servicers Association, Professional Servicers Association, and Marcone Servicers Association. About Brien

Brien Pippen is a third generation Appliance Expert. He was born into the industry and this is all that he has done his entire life. His grandfather worked at Sears, in the appliance department, in the late 1960s and early 1970s and his grandfather won many awards at Sears. Brien’s father, as well, worked at Sears in the Appliance Department also in the 1970s. Brien was born in 1974. In 1985, when Brien was 11 years old, his father and mother decided to open their own appliance business. They offered in-home appliance repair and retail sales of new and used appliances. Brien jumped in with both feet. At 11 years old, Brien began working in his father’s shop learning everything he could to be the best technician he could be. Needless to say, this was before internet and computers. Back then if you wanted to get into this industry you had to know somebody that was already a technician. Every day after school, evenings, weekends and during the summertime Brien was right there beside his father learning this ever-changing industry.

Brien started learning on Whirlpool-built belt-drive washing machines that were made in the late ’60s and early ’70s. Brien and his family ran a very successful appliance retail sales and service business up until 1999 when Brien’s father passed away. After the passing of his father, Brien continued the legacy. Brien has now been in the appliance industry for 38 years. From 2006 until 2013 Brien operated the largest appliance recycling center for Lowe’s in Kansas City. We processed 13 different Lowe’s stores and each Lowe’s store would produce two to three tractor trailers per month of used appliances. We rebuilt and wholesaled these appliances as well as having three retail stores selling new and scratch-and-dent appliances with 23 employees. Today Brien owns and operates The Appliance Care Company and is the largest in-home appliance service company in Kansas City with a very strong and aggressive retail appliance sales business. Over the years Brien has had many awards for Excellent Service from Angie’s List and the Better Business Bureau. Brien has been featured on several television stations as an appliance expert for TV news organizations. There are only two Certified Master Appliance Technicians in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area; Brien is one and his lead technician, Thomas, is the other one. Brien has a Certification as a Certified Dryer Exhaust Technician from the Chimney Safety Institute of America. Brien also has his ASE and Narda Refrigerant Recovery Certificates. Brien holds a Certificate of Accomplishment from the Major Appliance Technician Training and Certification Program as well as has a degree in Heating and Cooling. Brien Pippen is the leading appliance technician in Kansas City. Brien loves the challenge of new products. What scares most technicians thrills Brien. The Appliance Care Company is also a member of the Sears overflow team for in-home appliance repair. The Appliance Care Company is the leader for extended warranty work for Home Depot, Best Buy, Ferguson, AIG and Asurion. Brien is an expert in the warranty claims field which greatly helps his customers to get their warranty covered appliances repaired through The Appliance Care Company. All of these accomplishments were built from scratch by Brien Pippen himself. To this day Brien Pippen jumps in a van and runs service calls. Brien has processed hundreds of thousands of appliances in his lifetime. Despite all of his success, he still enjoys knocking on customer’s doors. He has personally trained all of his office staff and has a smooth running machine. For the past 5 years, Brien is the appliance expert on the Toby Tobin radio show here in Kansas City, Missouri, broadcasting Saturday mornings from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on 98.1 KMBZ. Folks call into the radio station and ask questions regarding appliance problems and recommendations. For hobbies Brien is a pilot and enjoys flying general aviation aircraft. He is also a certified scuba diver and achieved a Red Belt in the Martial Arts Hapkido. Brien graduated from high school in 1992 and attended Utah Valley State College and Longview Community College. Brien is currently working with an Architect to design a commercial building with an appliance school, retail appliance sales, in-home service dispatch center, appliance warehouse and an appliance drop-off service center. The Appliance Care Company is home based in Belton, MO, from 1985 to the present day and will continue to service the Kansas City Area for years to come.
